Levels of Luxury: Differences Between All Inclusive Resorts

Choosing an all inclusive resort for your upcoming vacation can be an involved task, given the vast differences in price, accommodations and included activities and amenities between locations. Compare the differences between all inclusive resorts to determine the one that best fits with your needs.

Luxurious Vacation Accommodations

One of the primary differences between all inclusive resorts is the available accommodations. Most offer a range of room sizes, included amenities and views from the windows, balcony or terrace. Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort in Singapore, for example, has seven -room and three suite types. These range from rooms with hill views or garden views to Deluxe Sea View Suites and the presidential Sentosa Suite. In virtually every resort, room prices vary depending on the size, view and included features. When shopping for your dream all inclusive vacation, compare what's available in different resorts and at what cost. Most resorts outfit all their rooms with basic amenities like televisions, mini bars, fridges and telephones. More expensive rooms are usually larger and may include big-screen televisions, designer furniture and hot tubs. While the larger rooms are normally the most luxurious, consider how much time you intend to spend in your room before you book. If you're going to be out enjoying the outdoors for the majority of your vacation, you can save money without sacrificing much by choosing a less expensive accommodation.

Differences in Vacation Packages

Resorts around the world include a variety of different items in their vacation packages, including guided trips, activities, meals and lessons. Some resorts, such as the Pacific Resort Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, only include breakfast in the price of their vacation packages, while others, such as the Fowl Cay Resort in the Bahamas, include all food and drink in their cost. Included activities and outings are where many different resorts diverge. Most all inclusive resorts have spas and health centers, but some charge extra for services like consultations and massages. Access to pools and sporting activities like volleyball and tennis are generally free, while most resorts have additional costs for cruises and guided treks on horseback or all-terrain vehicles. Some resorts have rather unique inclusions in their packages, such as Sandals Luxury Included® Vacations, which offers scuba diving lessons and excursions at no additional charge. If you're considering places like Thailand or Indonesia for your vacation, look into the all inclusive resorts in Asia.
