The peak season for visiting the Grand Canyon is March through October. During this time of year, advance planning is essential, as lodging choices and tours fill up rapidly. In the late fall and early spring there will be much fewer crowds. The weather will be chillier, but that's a small price to pay for not having to wait in line to get a good view. Winter can be a fantastic time to visit the Grand Canyon due to minimal crowds and gorgeous snow covered peaks and gorges, but be prepared for the possibility of icy roads and closures.
