While everyone travels for different reasons - to experience culture, attend concerts, visit family, or perhaps just laze on a beach, we all can agree that travel equals food. We love to explore different destinations to taste local flavors and fill our bellies with regional goodies. Below are 10 top U.S. cities for food lovers.
Los Angeles, CaliforniaWith roughly 15 million people and a multi-ethnic population, the Los Angeles food scene is an amazing clash of cultures. Forget the clichés (Beverly Hills power lunch anyone?) and tourist traps. Instead check out L.A. food trucks like Ferry Building Marketplace and exquisite ethnic enclaves. Plus celebrity chefs like Chris Cosentino and Hubert Keller call San Francisco home. You can simply wander down the street anywhere in SF and stumble upon a new gastronomic experience.
Cleveland, OhioWhile the slogan is “Cleveland Rocks,” this city is not necessarily a mecca for travelers; still, Ohio offers a rich culinary appeal. From farm-to-table restaurants like Madeira.

Cleveland, Ohio is also home to Michael Symon who has a few restaurants including a great burger place that has won various awards. But great food town? The jury is still out on that for me.
I love this! It sounds like a great idea for planning my next trip to the US!
I would add Charleston, S.C. to the list. Have you tasted the she-crab soup or shrimp and grits - low country food at it's finest.
Donna,
I have yet to visit Charleston (I know, bad, bad travel writer). However it looks like a delicious city. I saw it on the Travel Channel once and the food looks amazing!
Other cities that were close to making the cut included Miami, Boston and Seattle.
Great list. I would love to add a barbeque town like KC, Austin, or Memphis to this list. Give me some smokey brisket and I am in heaven!
