What are different styles of bicycle handlebars?
Bicycle handlebars come in many varieties to suit your needs for comfort, speed and maneuverability. Straight handlebars, a standard style for mountain bikes, provide a high level of control and are useful for going over rough or uneven terrain. Drop bars are found on many road bikes and allow riders to assume different aerodynamic positions when racing. Raised handlebars are essentially straight handlebars angled slightly upwards for comfort, and are found primarily on cruiser style bicycles. Most handlebars on Bicycle Motocross (BMX) bikes are wide, straight bars with triangular extensions that connect to the smaller BMX fork.
