There hasn't been much news on the NFL labor front. In this case I believe the no news is good news saying holds true. They are actually working on the real numbers in revenue sharing and rookie pay scale and with the deadline for getting preseason games rapidly approaching they have more and more reason to make it happen. Other news around the NFL is sparse, but it's still there! And here is some of it!

ESPN's Chris Mortenson reports that Terrell Owens had ACL surgery and the timeline for his recovery is 6 months. This is his second knee injury in 7 months and could be the end of T.O.'s long and tumultuous career. He was an amazing player with an amazingly large ego and is a sure bet hall of famer. There is no word at this time on how he was injured, but we may be in for some crazy story!

Coach Jack Del Rio has never shown much faith in quarterback David Garrard, but it looks like he's going to give him another shot because he really has no choice. We easily could end up seeing rookie Blaine Gabbert at some point during the season, but it looks like Garrard will get the nod whenever football resumes. Garrard has been an extremely streaky player and it does seem like it is time to hand the reins over to the next signal caller, but I agree that Gabbert would benefit from a season on the bench.

Who will be running the ball in Miami? We know for sure that Brown's chances of returning at 7% and I'd tend to agree. With his past ability a team may want to risk that they can get a year or two out of him as a starter and Miami won't want to pay him starter money. There is a better chance that Ricky will be back since he will be more willing to take less money. If that is what happens look for Thomas to be the lead back next season.

There is a lot of talk of DeAngelo Williams heading to Denver once the lockout is lifted. On the surface this does make sense. Coach Fox knows him and knows his ability and would love to have him in Denver. Knowshon Moreno has had injury issues and Fox knows the benefits of having two starting caliber running backs. The committee approach makes a ton of sense for any team, but the problem is having the ability to pay two starting running backs. The Broncos have trouble in multiple areas, especially defense and Williams is going to fetch a good price in free agency. I don't see it happening.

Do you remember Darelle Revis holding out last season? Yeah, that was a long time ago, but it's very likely that Chris Johnson will be doing the same thing this season once he is allowed to! I'm of two minds regarding hold outs. One is, you signed a contract, live up to it! But then I think the life of a NFL running back is short and Chris Johnson isn't exactly built like Jerome Bettis! I can't say what is right or wrong, but I also can't say what i would do in the same situation. The Titans also don't have much of a supporting cast around CJ, which also must weigh in on the decision to holdout.  But no matter what, this will be a huge story once the NFL gets back on track.

Ben Roethlisberger played much of last season with a broken foot. He had two metal plates inserted into his shoe to help protect him from further damage, but according to Roethlisberger, he often could barely walk. Instead of having surgery he decided to let it heal on its own. He says it feels good now, but could begin to bother him again as the season goes on and they would then have to go ahead with the surgery.
