Pomeranians are a generally healthy breed of dog with relatively few consistent ailments. The health problems they suffer also affect many of the other toy breeds. These are some health problems to be aware of:
• Coat loss
• Dislocated patella (kneecap)
• Eye infections
• Heart problems
• Hypoglycemia
• Hypothyroidism
• Obesity, many owners overfeed their Poms.
• Skin irritation
• Tooth decay and early tooth loss
• Tracheal collapse.
It's recommended that you offer your Pomeranian dry food and milk bones to strengthen his teeth and improve his dental hygiene.
