Dubai: We learn that a woman in Dubai is suing her husband for $11 million. Why? In her court papers she contends that his erectile dysfunction kept them from consummating their marriage. She further maintains her husband would not sleep with her for the first four months of their marriage. When she found out the reason he failed to perform, he forced her out of their home and took her jewelry.

Valley Forge National Park, PA: Here's a zany one. Josephine Winsor, 74, is an artist. Recently she was found drunk in a car in the national park and was seated next to a dead woodpecker. She, allegedly, had a .11 blood alcohol level. This was over the legal limit which is .08 in the state of Pennsylvania. She maintains she did not kill the woodpecker and doesn't know how it got in her car. Nonetheless, she was charged with a violation of the Migratory Bird Act.
Sounds like the beginning of an Alfred Hitchcock movie...
South Korea: How the heck did this happen! An ex-president of South Korea went into the hospital for a cough and wound up having to undergo surgery when doctors discovered a 2.5 inch acupuncture needle stuck in his lung. No one knows how the needle became lodged in Roh Tae-woo's in his lung, but surgery to remove it was successful. We learn further that there is no acupuncture procedure that involves inserting a needle into the lungs.
Perhaps, his wife did it when he was asleep...
Sacramento, CA: It has been reported that the city of Sacramento has decided to keep its street lights on 24 hours a day in an effort to defeat copper thieves. By keeping the lights on during the day thieves will get a good electrical shock if they try to purloin the copper parts, city officials said.

Canada: A Canadian teen who was being sentenced on theft and drug charges asked the judge for three extra months in the joint, so he could spend more time with his stepfather. His attorney asked for a six month sentence, but Justin Beynen, 18, demanded nine months in jail. The judge readily obliged his request.
