While women face a significantly higher risk for osteoporosis, the bone-weakening disease is still a major health concern for men--at 65 men lose bone mass as fast as women. Happily men can take the same steps as women to minimize their risk of developing osteoporosis. Exercise, adequate calcium and vitamin D intake, maintaining a healthy weight and not smoking will minimize your risk of experiencing bone loss while also contributing to your overall health.
