Most people do not need a lawyer to write a basic will. The forms are available for free and are often the same ones a lawyer would use. However, you may want to utilize a lawyer's services if you:
• Are making complex plans for your inheritance.
• Are making long-term arrangements for a family member.
• Have a large estate that will be subject to estate tax without tax planning.
• Have any questions about your will.
• Own a small business.
• Wish to disinherit or substantially disinherit a family member.
